And so begins part 1 from my "how to search for success" previous article, with the assumptions that the steps 1 through 6 were followed.

So what is Affiliatizing?

To define it, there are many companies on the internet that will pay you to deliver customers to their business and this is paid to you usually in the form of a commission. It could be a sale or it could be a lead depending on the action the customer makes.

What does Affiliating cost?

Nothing. It does require you to sign up for you to get paid, there is never a minimum sales requirement and they provide you an affiliate link. When a potential customer clicks on it, the link has embedded information so that you will get credit for the sale or referral. The link is also given to be placed on our own website. Which companies will we apply to as affiliates?

The HD Publishing Group, Reunion (now known as Mylife.com) and Click Bank. The HD Publishing group offers the most powerful Net Detective program around. Reunion now known as MyLife.com offers a similar people search program however they pay on the qualified lead including a sale. MyLife focuses on schools and helps in reconnecting people that they graduated with. ClickBank offers the largest downloadable products to be promoted on the internet, however, the affiliates promoting ClickBank can make it very competitive.

OK, so what's next?

1.   Log into your back office and read the important information prior to starting. One term you are going to see frequently is the 'display rate'. With each step in this process completed, your display rate percentage will increase. For example to complete Step 1, you will a display rate of 35% for your acme people search engine. 5.   Once all the information is entered and by the way, if pays to double check or even a third time to make sure your IDs are correct. Cut and Paste reduces errors. After things are checked out, click on the button for Affilitize my Search Engine.
